Have you got mail?…..
You may or may not have heard of ‘snailmail’ but let me introduce you. I’ve just come across this latest trend for communicating with friends, family or colleagues etc just recently and will hopefully soon put into practice myself. It’s not really a new concept, in fact it’s actually a very old fashioned and well established means of communication, but alas one that seems to be fading out since the internet and mobile epidemic. It’s quite simply sending someone a handwritten letter. Yes, indeed it’s nothing revolutionary, but there’s a bit more to it than just dusting off a writing pad and sharpening a pencil, it’s about taking the time and investing some effort in the presentation of said letter, what it may contain, what it may look like and how it can capture imagination, inspiration and creativity. The great thing is that nowadays we have so many great accessories to help us to hand. Take the Washi Tape, what a great invention, it has endless fun uses for creating colourful displays and is perfect for decorating envelopes and paper and giving letters extra fun. Then there are the numerous amounts of rubber stamps now on the market such as the gorgeous ones from Cavallini Papers & Co, once you start printing you won’t be able to stop. Stickers and strings can also bring a cool and trendy look to your creation and I’m sure any recipient of your letters would love to unravel a lovely velvet ribbon or brightly coloured bakers twine. And why not add even more fun by filling your envelope with confetti or glitter, even include a little gift or game. For lots more ideas and inspiration hop over to Pinterest.
